Canadian photographer 'Jeff Wall'
(born September 29, 1946) in Vancouver, British Columbia is a Canadian artist best known for his large-scale back-lit cibachrome photographs and art-historical writing. Wall has been a key figure in Vancouver's art scene since the early-1970s.
Cibachrome prints are created from colour transparencies (slides) by a system that is completely different from regular colour prints (like your one-hour snap-shots). The sharpness, colour intensity, clean whites, and critical accuracy to the original slide are stunning. Cibachrome prints are made on a dimensionally stable tri-acetate polyester base (i.e. plastic, not paper). In plain English, that means that your print will not fade, discolour or deteriorate for a very long time.

Good Afternoon and welcome to term 2. This term you will be honing in on your photography skills in Grade 12, learning about camera/camera functions and trying new things in Photoshop.
Grade 11 students will be learning about camera/camera functions, lighting, analogue photoshop and possibly trying the new CS5 version of Photoshop.
Reminder*
We saw how everyone was scattered and trying to get all of the assignments complete for reports, some were successful and some were not! Please, use class time wisely. If need be, I may keep some students in to make sure they are working.
I will have you number computers and sign up under one. You MUST consider being in the class 2/5 days per week to ensure that you are working.
I will demo how to make a contact sheet for each assignment.

Snap Shot vs. Photograph
A snapshot is popularly defined as a photograph that is "shot" spontaneously and quickly, most often without artistic or journalistic intent. Snapshots are commonly considered to be technically "imperfect" or amateurish--out of focus or poorly framed or composed. The term derives from the snap shot of hunting. Common snapshot subjects include the events of everyday life, such as birthday parties and other celebrations; sunsets; children playing; group photos; pets; tourist attractions and the like.
